With the highest GDP per capita of 10,823 USD in 2014[i] among the TCC partner countries, MalaysiaÕs car ownership rate equaled 390 passenger cars for every 1,000 Malaysians in 2014[ii], which is also the highest of all TCC partner countries. Unsurprisingly, the share of 2/3-wheeler of the total number of passenger cars and 2/3-wheelers is the lowest of all TCC partner countries and equaled 49.0% in 2013.[iii]
Country Activities
In Malaysia, the project focusses on institutional strengthening and policy support in the transport sector. In addition, support is provided for raising international climate funds for the implementation of sustainable transport programmes.
